Manage cancellations, no-shows, and refunds

When visitors book sessions or purchase services through your profile, you are the service provider and the seller of record and a contract is made directly between you and the client. This means you are fully responsible for the transaction and providing the service, including things like setting your own cancellation policies and handling any refunds or disputes.

Set your cancellation policy

  1. Go to the Bookings link in your Linktree Admin.

  2. Click the Bookings icon () to open Link settings.

  3. Go to your Customer settings.

  4. Fill in the Cancellation policy field.

  5. Use the preset options (like 24-hour notice) or add custom terms.

  6. Include:

    • How clients should notify you of a cancellation.

    • If and when refunds are allowed.

📝 Example policies:

  • "Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours in advance."

  • "50% refund for cancellations within 24–48 hours."

  • "No refund if cancelled within 24 hours."

Managing refunds and disputes

You're responsible for:

  • Setting and clearly communicating your cancellation policy.

  • Processing refunds via your Stripe Dashboard.

  • Resolving any issues directly with your client.

  • Compliance with applicable laws when providing your service including consumer protection and data and protection laws.

Handle common scenarios

  • Refunds: Issue directly through Stripe.

  • Disputes or chargebacks: Stripe will notify you—respond through their dashboard.

  • No-shows: Apply your stated cancellation policy.

💡 Tip: Keep email records for all cancellations or disputes.
